Most residents of Ho Chi Minh City tend to agree that the music scene is somewhat in disarray. Selector-cum-DJ Jordan Howard, however, has been at the forefront of resolving this crisis.
His weekly gigs down at popular venue Vasco’s have seen record numbers pile into the courtyard on Hai Ba Trung. Only last month he hosted Canadian synth-pop duo Handsome Furs, proving just how much the appetite for live music from expat and Vietnamese crowds is rising.
Jordan takes time out from his busy schedule to talk about just how his nights work as well as offering a lot of good advice to any self-respecting DJs or promoters hoping to change the musical landscape of the city.
